President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly greeted Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday. The state ceremony was attended by around 3,000 students from elementary to high school across the capital. Boluarte’s motorcade, accompanied by 17 motorcycle troops and 60 mounted guards, made its grand entrance from the National Monument (Monas) to the palace gates.

Upon arrival, President Boluarte was personally welcomed by President Prabowo. The two leaders then stood together on the ceremonial podium while the national anthems of Peru and Indonesia resounded through the air. They proceeded to inspect the honor guard and pay respects to their respective national flags.

Following the formalities, Prabowo and Boluarte introduced members of their official delegations. Among those accompanying Prabowo were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan P. Roeslani, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The two presidents engaged in a bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening the ties between Indonesia and Peru. Both countries are members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a platform for economic cooperation in the region.

This meeting marked a reciprocal gesture after President Prabowo’s official visit to Peru last year, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic exchange between the two nations.
